What’s New in Simcenter 3D 2412  has been released, introducing several new features. Our engineers have compiled the highlights for you.

Simcenter 3D continues to innovate with new features and enhancements designed to help engineers optimize their designs and analyses. This update introduces advanced tools and improvements in the areas of virtual sensing, space systems, electromagnetics, motion, acoustics, and more. Below you will find an overview of the latest features and how they can enhance and accelerate your workflows.

Recognition, workflow & commands

Simcenter 3D version 2412 has also brought some exciting changes to the software. Your feedback has been heard and time-consuming tasks are now being automated within the software. Here is a detailed list of the changes that will improve your workflow.

  • AI powered edge recognition: automatically select edges that match the input edge in shape, size and topology. It is now possible to create a separate mesh for each edge instead of one mesh for all the edges, that is if you select multiple edges. How can this be done? There’s a new toggle within Simcenter 3D that says, “create separate mesh”. Neat feature, right?
  • Region recognition: AI is also able to identify geometrically similar regions. You will be able to perform operations on multiple regions.
  • Improvement of the CAE workflow for deleting holes, blends and chamfers. Simcenter 3D also provides the ability to find multiple chamfers in a single selection.
  • Searching for commands is now easier with the enhanced search with adaptive learning. The program will learn your commands and usage patterns based on previous searches thus reducing the time to find the necessary answer or result.

Sizing, controls & guiding

Modelling complex geometries within Simcenter 3D has always been a challenge and the new update tackles this head on as follows:

  • Automatic local element sizing, support for mesh controls (size of face and edge), mixed order mesh and curve midnode placement support. This all has been updated in the fully automatic HEX dominant mesher.
  • In the previous versions the multi body automatic method could not be guided by the user. Now the method provides the user the option of selecting source and target faces, to better guide the automatic selection.
