Introducing energy saving devices

Ship owners and operators in marine technology constantly look for innovative, energy-efficient and cost-effective solutions to the growing pollution problem. One solution rising in popularity is to employ Energy Saving Devices (ESD), improving the hydrodynamic performance of vessels through active or passive flow control.

ESD can be distinguished as two categories:

1. Those that aim at reducing the resistance of the vessel;
2. Those that aim at improving the propulsion performance. Through improvements of the propulsion system itself, for example with Propeller Boss Cap Fins, or through the use of systems that improve the hull-propulsion interacton, such as pre-ducts.
